Eating disorders are prevalent among adolescent and young adult women and are becoming increasingly common among middle-aged and older women, as well as boys and men.
Dr. Javaras describes eating disorders and their symptoms (e.g., restricted food intake, binge eating, vomiting, and compulsive exercise), explains why individuals with borderline personality disorder may be at higher risk for experiencing eating disorders, and provides a brief overview of evidence-based treatments for eating disorders.
