Healthcare Equity and Cultural Humility: Ethical Practice in Social Services
December 17: 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
This training focuses on integrating cultural humility and healthcare equity into ethical practice within social services. As the diversity of populations served continues to grow, it is essential for professionals to approach their work with a commitment to lifelong learning, self-reflection, and respect for different cultural perspectives. Participants will explore the concept of cultural humility, which emphasizes an ongoing process of critical self-examination and the importance of recognizing and addressing power imbalances between professionals and clients. The course will also cover key aspects of healthcare equity, helping participants understand how social determinants of health—such as socioeconomic status, race, and access to resources—affect client outcomes.
