Complex trauma and toxic stress are common experiences for the children and families that we work with. Trauma from ACEs and other adversities can have a significant, life-long impact on their lives. It is our jobs to help them heal from this trauma and to build resilience that will strengthen them against adversities throughout their lives. This training will look at practical steps that professionals and caregivers can use to help children heal and to build resilience. Among other things, this training explores the importance of connections for children, what to know when making mental health referrals, how to use play to help children build skills and teach mindfulness as a self-regulation tool.

• Anyone is welcome to attend any ILC, regardless of their position.
• All ILCs are free.
• Please be sure to let us know if you need to cancel.
• If there are not 10 participants registered for each ILC 3 days prior to the ILCs, the ILCs may be cancelled.
• A few days prior to each virtual ILC, you will receive an email with the link to join the ILC
• If you need to miss more than 15 minutes of the training, please have a conversation with your trainer about receiving credit.

Please submit a short summary to your supervisor or certificate of completion (if received) to receive 3 hours on continuing education.
